Walk Into the Atlas. Meet the People Who Call It Home.
4 Days From Imlil to the Dades Valley, With Time to Actually Be There
Most Atlas Mountains tours show you the scenery. Very few show you the life inside it.
On this 4-day journey, you start on foot in Imlil, climbing through walnut orchards to Aremd village for your first look at Mount Toubkal. Then you cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, walk the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, and spend a full day in the Dades Valley, hiking canyon paths and meeting nomadic families who live in mountain caves.
No checklist. No race against the clock. A whole day with room to wander.

4-Day Tour Highlights
Full 4-Day Itinerary
Marrakech fades behind you and the High Atlas rises ahead. By the time you reach Imlil (1,740m), the air is cooler and the pace has changed.
Meet your mountain guide and start walking: walnut orchards, terraced fields, streams rushing beside the path. The trek up to Aremd (1,900m) is gentle, and the reward is a view of Mount Toubkal you'll want to stay with for a while.
Today the road does the climbing. You cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), one of the great drives of the High Atlas.
Then the mountains let go, and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou appears: a UNESCO World Heritage ksar of mud-brick towers, a backdrop for films like Gladiator. A local guide walks you through it. After that come Ouarzazate, the Skoura palm grove, the Valley of Roses, and the Dades Valley by evening.
This is the day you'll tell people about.
Walk the canyon paths, marvel at the "Monkey Fingers" rock formations, and follow winding serpentine roads into the mountains. Then leave the main route behind and meet nomadic families who live in natural caves.
Hear how they live: the livestock, the daily routines, a pastoral life centuries old. It's a way of life few travelers ever see, and you'll have the time to really see it.
Breakfast with the valley spread out below you, then the road home begins.
Along the way, visit Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate or stop at a local argan oil cooperative on the High Atlas passes. Take your coffee with a mountain panorama, then make the final descent into Marrakech, arriving around 18:00 where your tour concludes.
